Swimming Pool Risk Assessments

DSW understand that the safe and consistent operation of your swimming pool is critical to your business. All swimming pools are different, due to; supply water, size, materials of construction, bather load, and water turnover. As pools vary so much it is critical to have a risk assessment undertaken in line with HSG 282 to ensure compliance. Our survey will look at the following areas:

  • Paperwork audit of pool records completed by on site staff.
  • Complete review of all operating procedures and control policies.
  • Assessment of current control schemes and suitability for the pools.
  • Physical condition check of the pool and surrounding areas prior to and following clean.
  • Inspection of all treatment plants and associated systems, to include; chlorine/acid dosing, ozone, sand filters, balance tank, basket filters, strainers, gulleys, drainage areas, chlorine and pH analysers and probes, pumps, deadlegs, plate heat exchangers and injection points.
  • Procedure review of cleaning and hygiene practices.
  • Full COSHH survey.
  • Assess potential for cross contamination and potential for foreign bodies to enter the pool via human contact.
  • Any other considerations such as atmospheric conditions, materials used and general condition of the pool.
  • Bather load and water turnover.
  • Chlorine/ biocide dosing levels.
